Animal Research: Narrowing down our options

Our family writing pages are starting to take shape! After a few tough days trying to get ourselves started on the writing we now seem to be gathering momentum for our family writing project and the productivity is way up. Lots of us are finished two of our family members and some of us have even started assembling our family page in our books! Ask me how my writing is going and if I need anymore notes from home to help me with the details.

In math quite a few of us were able to finish all the pattern centers today and we had some time to try out the pattern section of Mathletics. Next week we will be moving on to learning about number patterns.  If we aren't finished the centers we will be using some math time and some of our center time to get them finished next week.

This afternoon we tried to get through our whole Nose Hill mammal list and decide on the animal we want to research. So far about half or us have chosen an animal and the rest of us are still trying to decide. If you are curious about our list, we used this list from the Friends of Nose Hill Society as the starting point for our research.

Tomorrow is looking quite chilly so we will be postponing our trip to Nose Hill. Instead, we will be doing some activities in the school yard and in Whispering Woods so that we can come in for some warm up breaks when needed. Please be sure that you have all your winter gear here tomorrow including snowpants, boots, mitts, hat, jacket, and anything else you would need to stay warm on a very chilly day.
