This afternoon was our first day of sketching with our guest artist, Ryder Richards. Today we were each given our own sketching sets to keep! The sets include 4 different pencils, charcoal, chalk, a smudger, sandpaper, an eraser, and a pencil sharpener. When Ryder arrived she started by showing us how each of the pencils is different and how we can hold the pencils differently to create different techniques. Then she explained how we would use the rest of our tools. After that we went outside to do some sketching in the Whispering Woods. As we worked on our sketches Ryder came around and gave us feedback and tips to help us improve our sketching techniques. We will be working with Ryder again on Thursday.
