Happy Thanksgiving!

This morning we started with journals. Quite a few of us wrote about Thanksgiving. We worked to write at least 3 ideas if we are in grade 1 and at least 6 ideas if we are in grade 2. We also  read a story called Ordinary Mary's Extraordinary Deed that was all about doing kind things for others and the ways that our kindness can spread. It was also about a very big high school idea called exponential growth! We learned that if everyone can just be kind to 5 other people kindness could come to every person in the world in only 15 days!

In math we started learning how to create 3D shapes using shapes nets. We are all trying to make different 3D shapes and then we will use our shapes to create a sculpture. One of our friends says he is going to try to make Hogwarts!

In gym we started with three warm up drills. The first one was a dribbling drill where you had to control the ball while you did a zigzag through the cones, the second one was a passing station, and the third one was a shooting drill. Then we played some mini soccer games.

In music we are learning a song called Fool by Basia Bulat. Sometimes we practice by singing along to the video and sometimes Mr. O'Reilly plays in on his guitar while we sing.

We are bringing home 3 notices today. Two of them are about picture day and one is from ChildSafe Canada.
