Highlights:
- We continued on our journey of being junior biologists today! We started out in the Whispering Woods....
We were on a scavenger hunt in the Whispering Woods.
We had a list of different things (plants, flowers and trash) that we had to find in order to get more familiar with this area.
Here we were looking for the "treasures" during the scavenger hunt.
When we found weeds, like Dandelions, we picked them. We made sure not to blow on the white Dandelions because then the seeds of those weeds would blow in the wind and more weeds could grow.
Afterwards, we added to our art journals...
This time, we looked for the Bergomot flower and then sketched it in our journals.
We learned that the stems on these flowers had leaves. These petals are purple. Some of the petals were bending downwards and the petals felt a bit rigid. These petals are pointy and have tips that are v-shaped.
Here we are sketching the Bergamot. We made sure to sketch the petals with pointy tips so they looked like the real flower.
