Highlights:
- We learned about Terry Fox and started running laps to prepare for the Terry Fox run!
- For art, painted our Beebalm Bergamot flower sketch with water paints. We also went outside to sketch another flower, the Golden Rod!
- We learned that you can mix colors to make new colors! This knowledge comes in very handy when painting our flowers. For example,
- red + blue = purple
- yellow + red = orange
- blue + yellow = green
- white + green = light green
- purple + yellow; or blue + orange; or red + green = variations of brown
- In science we learned about the parts of a plant - ask us about these!
- For math we created our own survey questions and conducted them in class by asking all of the students a "yes" or "no" question.
- Then, we learned about bar graphs and started preparing a bar graph using our survey data on large graphing paper. We also played math games where we practiced our knowledge of tallies an numerals using individual white boards.
- We had our very first fire drill of the year and it was a great success because we made it outside quickly and quietly!
