Week 14

Highlights:

  • For Social Studies we started the sharing of our family traditions. Some of the traditions included...
having a Christmas party every year on Christmas eve
 baking treats and cookings every Christmas going on family trips every year
 wishing good luck to our ancestors and relatives by putting up decorations
 going canoeing every year
 
creating an ice rink in the back yard every winter to play hockey
  • For Word Work the grade 2s learned about vowel sounds and focused on the "a" sounds (long vs short) then went into their books to find words to add to the vowel chart: 1s have been practicing the A-List sight words
  • In Art we took our work with tints and shades, and cut them into shapes. From those shapes we constructed pictures - some were realistic others were abstract.

Reminders:
  • This Fresh Air Friday we are planning to extend our science learning of building 3D shapes to create  3D shape snow villages. Please dress appropriately for the weather. 
  • Beginning Dec 9th (Monday) we will be accepting items for fill-in-the-sock - more detail to follow. 
  • Dec. 12 (Thursday) is Festive Evening from 6:00pm to 7:45pm
