More Ice Village

This morning we finished our Whispering Woods books. When we were finished we shared our books with our class friends. Then some of us had a few minutes to make a quiet choice. Before we bring them home we will be sharing them with our big buddies.

In math we worked to finish our counting by 2's practice and then if we finished early we played our counting by 2's and 5's games. We timed ourselves putting the cards in orders using the iPads.

This afternoon we started by writing a letter to the other classes about our Ice Village. We wanted to make sure they knew about our ice village and we asked them not to touch or move the pieces. Then we went outside and rearranged the pieces to make it look more like a village.  Some of us put our pieces together by using hot water and snow to stick the pieces together. The snow and hot water together worked like glue.  This worked because the snow and water mixture is in between the two layers of ice so it freezes really quickly. Some of us also added in some snow buildings. Ask me what I built and who I worked with.

(If you don't see your child's picture here, stay tuned for tomorrow. It was so cold that Ms. Boyer's phone shut off and wouldn't take anymore photos! We will take the rest tomorrow.)

In gym we did more volleyball practice. Today we practiced passing for Newcomb ball.

At the end of the day we were planning on having more people share their home challenges with us, but we ran out of time. We will have them share tomorrow.

Tomorrow our helper is: Evelyn
