Ms. Boyer's suitcase is almost packed!

This morning the grade 1's started guided reading and we are now in new teams for our centre time. Our class has three teams: Team Walrus, Team Arctic Fox, and Team Narwhal. Each day our teams are assigned to a different center.

During our writing time we researched our sense of taste for our Whispering Woods writing. We had a chance to smell and taste some herbs that remind us of fall. We tried rosemary, thyme, and smelled bay leaves.

In math we started our attributes art project. We started by choosing our first sorting rule and arranging the correct leaves on wax paper. Then Ms. Boyer ironed the wax paper so that the leaves are trapped inside. Next week we will make some more pages and turn them into a book.

Then it was FUN LUNCH!!!!!

This afternoon we worked on finishing our suitcases and we are now adding the supplies and clothes that Ms. Boyer will need to take on her trip to Churchill.

After that we had gym. We played tag games. Then we had music. We played a game and then we started learning to write music notes and rhythms to match the words in our Apple Tree song.

Our helper today was Isla. She shared her talent for rock climbing. We watched a video where she climbed up a huge ladder!

Please remember that tomorrow is Fresh Air Friday. We will be outside planting new daffodil and crocus bulbs and also doing some sketching so please dress for the weather. If there are any parents who have completed their security clearance and would like to come join us please feel welcome! Extra adult hands are always helpful for planting!

On Monday our helper is: Lily
