Today the grade 2's started a new routine. When the grade 1's come to the carpet with Ms. Boyer for word practice the grade 2's will go to do word practice with Ms. Stephure. After recess we went out to the Whispering Woods to collect interesting leaves for our attributes art project. We will be going outside again tomorrow so please come dressed for the weather.

After lunch we learned that Ms. Boyer is going on a really special trip to Churchill, Manitoba to go on a polar bear safari. Over the next few weeks we are going to act like Ms. Boyer's travel agents by learning all about what it will be like there so Ms. Boyer will be prepared for her trip. (It just so happens that studying the arctic is part of our grade 2 social studies curriculum!)

Today in gym we played tag games and did 5-minute fitness. 5-minute fitness is where we do sprints across the gym until we hear the whistle. When the whistle blows Ms. Boyer calls out an activity we have to do (like push ups, or jumping jacks) until the whistle blows again. 5-minute helps is build our muscles and to get our hearts pumping.

After gym we went to music. We played the apple tree game. We had to memorize a pattern (or a secret code!) using music notes, whistles, snaps, claps, and clicks, and stomps. Then we performed the patterns and other kids and to figure them out.

Our helper tomorrow is: Jessica
