Temporary Art

We started this morning with our first Big Buddy activity for the year.  Our buddies brought a story with them and read to us. Our buddies this year are from Room 6. Ask me about my big buddy!

Then we went outside to try to finish our Alphabet Signs Hunt. Most of us were able to finish but a few of us will need a little bit more time. The "T" sign was very hard to find. Jasper was able to find it at the end of the Whispering Woods. He told us that when you go into the Whispering Woods turn right and go all the way to the edge. Then you will find it.

After our Alphabet Hunt we had our snack break. After our snack we went outside to make some art. We were inspired by one of our favourite artists, Andy Goldsworthy. He makes land art. We watched a video of his work and talked about the difference between permanent art and temporary art. Then we went outside to make our own temporary land art. Some people were making very large art pieces using the huge branches in the woods. Some people made very small art using leaves and berries. We all created our art is special spaces in the Whispering Woods. Many of us made artwork inspired by a teepee shape.

Sorry the videos are narrow! Ms. Boyer fail!!

At the end of the day we went to the gym to rehearse our song for the Remembrance Day assembly. The assembly is on Thursday and parents are welcome to attend.

Our helper on Monday is: Shawn
