Mathlympics!

This morning we started with journals.  We worked to write paragraphs about the interesting things we did on our very long weekend.

Today in math the Mathlympics started! We will be competing at 9 different events and earning medals for our countries (each group gets to decide which country they want to represent). To start, each country needs to create 100 olympic rings. The rules for this event are that everyone on the team has to be included and every 10th ring needs to be black. Once we finish the rings, the opening ceremonies can happen and then the competition will begin!

This afternoon we finished our life sized animals, animal art, and our animal buttons. Once we were finished all those jobs we could choose between mathletics and dance mat typing.

Then we went to gym. Today we got back to gymnastics. We were using the benches today and practicing balancing and moving across the benches. For the next few weeks please make sure you are wearing clothing that is appropriate for gymnastics.

In music we talked about harmony. We worked in groups. One person was the low note, one was the middle note, and one was the high note. We had to try to sing in harmony using our low, middle, and high tones.

Tomorrow is Backwards Day!

We are hoping to go to Nose Hill on Friday. In order to go, we will need at least 3 volunteers from our class. If you are able to join us, please email Ms. Boyer.
