So Much Snow!

Wow, what a wintry day!

This morning we started with our poetry challenge. Three more of us earned buttons that we will get to make tomorrow! After that we worked on our family writing. We are getting closer to having this part of the project finished. After this we will be moving on to some writing about ourselves and then about our community.

In math we got to work on one last pattern project. We looked at quilts and noticed that quilt squares often show patterns. Sometimes they are growing patterns but usually they are repeating patterns. We are each designing one quilt square on paper and then we will put them all together to make a big quilt.

After lunch we worked on our animal artwork and then we had a special gym time outside (our yoga teacher couldn't make it here in the snow so we are rescheduling our last day of yoga). For our special gym time we went outside for another winter walk. We had so much fun yesterday and wanted to enjoy all this great snow! It was really fun but also very tiring to walk in that deep snow. It almost came up to our waists in some spots!

After that we had music. We are working on our musical folly project.

Our helper on Monday is: Joachim

We are bringing home a special notice about our Feb. 14 friendship party and Valentine exchange today. The grade 1's are also bringing home their spelling work from January.

Please remember we are planning to go snowshoeing tomorrow. it will be very important to have ALL your warm outside clothing here at school. An extra pair of dry socks to change into is also a good idea.
