Feb 7 - Winter Walk

Today we were invited to the Science Fair in the gym which was hosted by the grade 5 and 6 students. They created a question/problem then put together their own procedure to investigate it and find an answer - the scientific process was similar to the science experiment we did yesterday. We learned about many different things.

a red potato had the best ability to become a battery

apples are better than lemons or kiwis for making light bulbs light up

if you don't add yeast to bread it won't rise and will not be golden brown

the door nob was the dirtiest but the toilet seat was not

Yesterday was Winter Walk Day 2019 - but it was too cold - so we we had our Winter Walk today!

We mixed it up with some walking, jogging and had some races on the field!

Reminders:
The special helper for next Monday (Feb 11, 2019) is: Taylor. Please prepare to share about your special talent.

Also, we will be having a friendship celebration on Wednesday, February 13th. It will involve exchanging cards with classmates. In the past, some students have chosen to make their cards and others have brought store-bought cards. If students choose to participate, they are encouraged to include all of the children in the classroom. The list of names from our class has been sent home with each student.
